Venting & Vent Disguises

Ongoing research proves that any onsite septic system will work better and last longer if it has a sufficient oxygen supply.  For this reason, PEI is now recommending venting on all Advanced Enviro-Septic™ (AES) and Enviro-Septic® Systems.  Given the minimal cost and effort it takes to add a vent to either a new or existing system, the benefits far outweigh any perceived detriments. Venting has been demonstrated to improve the functioning of the system and enhance its life-span.

Remote Venting

Vents can be located to a remote area of the site where they can be virtually invisible.  This involves nothing more than running a length of PVC underground away from the system to a spot where the vent is less noticeable: past the tree line, next to a tree or light pole, behind the garage, wherever it no longer creates an eyesore. Remotely locating vents removes "candy canes" from the yard. [caption id="attachment_3275" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Hide remote vents with paint and foliage.
