Tested Performance

After rigorous testing, Enviro-Septic® Technology has recently become the world’s first NSF International Certified passive wastewater treatment technology of its kind!

Summarywebbeakers-small

Enviro-Septic® Technology is state-of-the-art passive wastewater treatment technology that has been scientifically proven to remove up to 99% of contaminates in wastewater.

The Enviro-Septic® Technology has been subjected to intensive, scientific testing in a continual effort to improve our product and demonstrate how well it works. Our test results confirm that Enviro-Septic® Technology provides exceptional treatment capabilities which far exceed what is required by the US EPA recommendations, NSF Standard 40 (Class 1), and the BNQ (Advanced Secondary) in Canada.

Advanced Enviro-Septic™ (AES) and Enviro-Septic® Exceed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Proposed Standards for Onsite System Performance!

While performance criteria for onsite wastewater treatment systems are regulated at the state level, the EPA has established guidelines for treatment standards.  Enviro-Septic® Technology treatment capabilities far exceed EPA’s proposed performance standards for onsite systems.

Enviro-Septic® Technology Exceeds Bureau de Normalization du Quebec (BNQ) Standards for Secondary and Advanced Secondary Treatment!

The Canadian BNQ has performed two, year-long rounds of testing of full-size Advanced Enviro-Septic Systems. The results exceeded requirements for Secondary Treatment in 2006 and Advanced Secondary in 2008 . As a result, Enviro-Septic® Technology has full approvals in Quebec and Ontario (other approvals pending).

Early Testing

2003 - University of New Hampshire

A research study in collaboration with the Virology and Waterborne Disease Laboratory, Department of Microbiology, University of New Hampshire (Durham) was conducted in 2002-2003 using cell testing to compare the treatment effectiveness of Enviro-Septic® and pipe and stone. Test results showed Enviro-Septic® treated wastewater significantly better than pipe and stone.

2003 - Environmental E.S.A., Sherbrooke, Quebec

For this round of testing, Enviro-Septic® and pipe and stone system were installed side-by-side in Stoke, Canada, and dosed with the same amount of municipal sewage for 171 days (from October 2002 to March 2003). Results confirmed Enviro-Septic® removes considerably more contaminants than pipe and stone. The wastewater exiting the pipe and stone system contained 10 times more Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) than wastewater exiting the Enviro-Septic® System. The wastewater exiting the pipe and stone system contained over 80 times as many fecal coliforms as the Enviro-Septic® System (see table below).
